This wiki provides TLA session participants and other school librarians resources for maximizing their impact on student achievement through coteaching reading comprehension strategies. Session Objectives:

 

At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate the relationship between intellectual access, reading comprehension strategies, the TEKS ELA-R standards, and the AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner and be able to access the TEKS-AASL Alignment wiki: http://teksalign.pbworks.com
  2. Articulate the key components the AASL Position Statement on the School Librarian’s Role in Reading and be able to locate the toolkit: http://ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/aasl/aaslissues/toolkits/slroleinreading.cfm
  3. Develop knowledge of how to use coteaching strategies to teach reading comprehension strategies in interdisciplinary lessons in an integrated, collaborative school library program.
